Who we are

The Youth Bloc is a project focused on organizing voters under 30 around the issues that matter to them. You can reach us at hello@theyouthbloc.com.

What we collect

When you sign the pledge, we collect:

  • Your first and last name.
  • Your email address.
  • Your mobile phone number.
  • Your ZIP code.
  • Your age range.
  • The issues you select as priorities.
  • Voter registration status (self-reported).
  • Past voting participation (self-reported).
  • Primary election intent (self-reported).
  • Party affiliation (optional, self-reported).
  • The pledge and consent records you create, including the exact SMS disclosure and terms text shown to you at signup, with version identifiers.
  • Marketing attribution data: UTM parameters, the source URL you arrived from, your user agent, and a one-way hash of your IP address. We do not store raw IP addresses.

How we use it

  • To organize voters and count you in the bloc.
  • To send email updates and SMS messages where you have consented.
  • To send advocacy communications and election reminders.
  • To produce aggregate reports about the size and composition of the bloc.
  • To match against publicly available voter files for analytics purposes.

Who we share with

We share data with service providers under contract who help us run the project. We do not sell your personal data.

  • Supabase, for data storage.
  • Twilio, for SMS delivery (when applicable).
  • Vercel, for hosting.
  • Cloudflare, for spam protection and security.

We do not sell or share personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

How long we keep it

We retain pledge records indefinitely while the project is active. You can request deletion at any time by emailing hello@theyouthbloc.com.

SMS specifics

SMS messages are sent only to people who have opted in. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe at any time, or HELP for help. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of joining the bloc.

Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by emailing hello@theyouthbloc.com. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe.

Children

The Youth Bloc is intended for users who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version here and revise the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the site after the change means you accept the revised policy.
